Panorama Mountain Village Inc. has announced that its acquisition from Intrawest by a group of Panorama homeowners and local business people has been finalized. Although they are diverse in many ways, the investors share one thing in common – a tremendous passion for Panorama Mountain Village. Led by Rick Jensen, they have plans to operate, grow and further develop the resort which is already a leading year-round recreational destination, into one of the best family-focused mountain resorts in Canada.
Included in the transaction are the on-mountain and Nordic ski operations, a 50% ownership in the award-winning Greywolf Golf Course and all of Intrawest’s commercial operations and lodging units in the village, as well as the land available for real estate development.
President and Chief Executive Officer, Rick Jensen, in commenting on the new owners’ vast experience in resort and property development, said they will be working with all stake holders to bring new energy to the resort. “Our group … is committed to transforming Panorama Mountain Village into a true four-season family-focused destination. Most of us are local homeowners in Panorama and are passionate about creating a long-term sustainable future for the resort.”
Panorama Inc.’s immediate focus will be on improving guest experience and enhancing dining offerings. Expansion of the novice terrain by adding a new chairlift and launching new ski-in/ski-out home sites will also be coming along.
The talented and experienced employee team already in place at Panorama is one of the greatest strengths of this deal, according to Mr. Jensen. “We are very excited to be working with these people to … drive the resort forward.”
It is business as usual at Panorama these days. The resort is honouring all vacation reservations, season passes and products like the SnowMax Ski Card.
