Ski Kicking Horse

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is located on the eastern-most slopes of the Purcell Mountains. The first four-season resort to open in the Rockies in 25 years, Kicking Horse is dramatically surrounded by six national parks: Yoho, Kootenay, Glacier, Mt. Revelstoke, Jasper and Banff.
During the winter, Kicking Horse offers a breathtaking 1,260 metres (4,134 ft) of vertical and is famed for its champagne powder. Thanks to this and more, Kicking Horse has been recognized with ‘Best Steeps’ by Ski Canada magazine (2007).
Each year, on average, Kicking Horse receives over 7m of some of the lightest, driest and deepest powder on the planet. The mountains which surround Kicking Horse and the unique snow pack are the reason that the area has such a historic mountain culture and why it is surrounded by the greatest concentration of backcountry lodges and cat- and heli-ski operations in Canada.
After your day on the slopes, put on your dinner duds and take the gondola back up to the very top of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. The Eagle’s Eye Restaurant offers unparalleled views and is one of Canada’s most talked about culinary experiences!
New for the 2011-12 Ski Season
A new groomed entrance to Feuz Bowl has been constructed on Redemption Ridge. This 500m traverse trail allows easier and smoother access to classic Kicking Horse terrain, along with opening the spectacular scenery of Feuz Bowl to skiers who prefer to explore the mountain on groomed trails. From the same traverse trail, the grooming team will be exploring additional grooming options on the south facing Crystal Bowl side of Redemption Ridge. This new project will help provide fresh grooming options from the top of the Stairway to Heaven Chair into two alpine bowls.
