Snowmobile Tours

Golden is a natural choice for many snowmobilers simply because of its beautiful scenery and terrain, light and dry snow and convenient location. For sledders, this is sheer paradise.

  • The Golden Snowmobile Trail Society and the Golden Snowmobile Club work together to keep trails in top-notch condition by grooming trails, maintaining bridges and cleaning cabins. Visit http://www.snowmobilegolden.com for additional information.

Heli-skiing & Heli-boarding

  • For 35 years, Purcell Helicopter Skiing Ltd has been offering snow enthusiasts the ultimate powder skiing adventure. As a small company, they are dedicated to providing guests with the highest quality of service. Rather than encouraging vertical records, their aim is to offer thrilling but comfortable skiing and boarding adventures at a relaxed pace. Alpine skiers, telemark skiers, snowboarders… everyone is welcome! – http://www.purcellhelicopterskiing.com/

Snowshoeing

Explore the forested 2km and 4km loop trails just off the Palliser Trail road. This is a fun way for the whole family to experience the tranquility of the winter wilderness together. Snowshoe rentals are available in the village.

Tubing

Located next to the Day Lodge with access by the Jelly Bean surface lift, the tube park will help you get your 70s groove on by offering Disco Tubing every Saturday night. No skills are required, just a sense of adventure. It’s the perfect family activity after a day on the slopes. Tickets and rentals are available at Guest Services.

Nordic Skiing

For cross-country skiers, the world-class Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre just north of the resort provides 30 km of groomed trails for both classic and skate skiing as well as a cozy 10-15 person warming hut complete with wood-burning stove. The trail system includes gentle beginner loops and moderately difficult routes that traverse rolling ridges, dense coniferous forest and open meadows with extraordinary mountain wilderness vistas.

Ice Skating

There is a family-friendly 60 x 120 ice rink located in the heart of the village. It features benches, a fire pit, warming hut and music. Skate rentals are available on site. Wednesday night is Hockey Night at Kicking Horse, so come by with your stick and skates for some fun three-on-three action.
