Kimberley is home to many amazing hiking opportunities from easy nature walks in town to extensive mountain adventures within a short drive. The Marysville Falls, St Mary Alpine Provincial Park, Kimberley Nature Park, Lois Creek, Rotary, Volksmarch, Mark Creek and the Kimberley Nordic Trails, or Fisher Peak are just a few of the places in and around Kimberley for hikers to explore.

The Radium Hot Springs area offers unlimited hiking and trekking with many access points leaving right from town.Their fortunate location on the border of Kootenay National Park allows visitors to access some of our area's most beautiful hikes. Popular short day hikes near Radium include the Old Coach Trail, Juniper Trail (KNP) together with the Redstreak Campground Trail (KNP), Dog Lake (KNP), Lower Bugaboo Falls, Mount Swansea Lookout or the Radium Village Sinclair Creek Trail.

At Panorama Mountain Village your doorstep is the trail head. Enjoy everything from high mountain lookouts to creekside valley trails all offering varying degrees of difficulty and adventure. From paved pathways to expeditions through high alpine passes, hiking and trekking in the area is breathtaking.

Right on our doorstep is a number of BC’s national and provincial parks whose rugged landscapes, hanging glaciers, waterfalls, and panoramic mountain summits beg for exploration. Explore over 50km of marked trails on resort property or take on the extensive mountain playground of the Columbia Valley. Just south of Fairmont is the Hoodoos which is a popular hike and look out spot when visiting the Fairmont area.
Hiking in the Columbia Valley
The Columbia Valley is mecca for hiking. Some of the best hikes in and around Invermere are: Swansea Lookout, Pedley Pass and Lake of the Hanging Glaciers. Kootenay National Park near Radium is an explorers paradise. To the south discover the Hoodoos near Fairmont.
Hikes & Walks in Fernie
Surrounded by the Canadian Rockies, Fernie has an abundance of hikes and walks for you to enjoy. Close to town, the Ancient Cottonwood Interpretive Trail and the Rail Trail are popular for easy walking. For more of an outing, we suggest hiking Castle Mountain or Mount Proctor/Fair Creek.
