Skating Fernie
Fernie boasts both an indoor and outdoor skating rink each winter season as well as many frozen ponds. Looking for a night out with the kids? Rent some skates and off you go! Enjoy hot chocolate and beautiful mountain views as you carve figure eights or little pick up game of hockey. Choose from the maintained surface outside the Fernie Aquatic Centre, Maiden Lake or the Annex Park Pond. Double check with the locals on outdoor ice conditions or call the City at 250-423-2254.
Skating Kimberley
Kimberley Alpine Resort's outdoor Skating Rink is located behind the Alpine Sport's Boutique and is open for us daily, skates are available at the rental shop. Every Tuesday and Saturday Night from 6:00pm - 8:00pm keep warm by the fire.

The Lake Windermere Whiteway is a well-maintained skating loop from Windermere to Invermere which features fire pits and hockey rinks along the way. The best access for skating is at Kinsmen Beach in Invermere, Invermere Bay Condos and one at Windermere Beach. Kinsmen Beach access has heated public bathrooms and park benches, as well as shovels and fire pits. Skate rentals are available at Inside Edge, downtown Invermere or at Columbia Cycle, across from the A&W Restaurant.
